San Francisco Tax Preparation / CPA: IRS’s Website Holds Answers to Common EIP Questions

Filed in CCH NEWS FEED by on July 10, 2020

The IRS reminded taxpayers that IRS.gov included answers to many common questions. This included the two recently launched Economic Impact Payment (EIP) tools, Get My Payment and Non-Filers Enter Payment Info. The Get My Payment tool shows the projected date when a deposit has been scheduled. The Non-Filers Enter Payment Info tool helps millions of taxpayers successfully submit basic information to receive EIPs quickly to their bank accounts.

Further, taxpayers were urged to often check the frequently asked questions on IRS.gov for the latest additions. Eligible taxpayers who filed tax returns for tax years 2019 or 2018 would receive the payments automatically. Moreover, starting this week, automatic payments would be going to those receiving social security retirement, or disability and railroad retirement benefits. Finally, recipients of supplemental security income and Veterans Affairs or survivor benefits would receive their payments by mid-May.
