Christmas is coming to San Francisco!  We love the holidays, and thought since we are not only a top CPA firm in San Francisco, but San Francisco lovers, we’d like to share some of the better websites to learn about Christmas lights and things to do this upcoming holiday season in San Francisco. Rather than build our own list, we offer you up this ‘online tour’ of website where you can ‘deep dive’ to find houses, homes, parks, and ice-skating rinks to make Christmas / Holidays 2014 special.

Enjoy our ‘Virtual Tour’ of Christmas / Holiday Lights and Things to Do in San Francisco!

First, start your online tour at About.com, which has a nice list from 2013 of San Francisco Christmans Lights and Holiday displays. The focus is largely on commercial locations such as Union Square or the Embarcadero Center. It’s especially useful, therefore, for tourists or those new to San Francisco, as many of the sites listed are tried-and-true for San Francisco residents. Next, look just a bit farther afield to the entire San Franciso Bay Area and visit Elaborately Lit Destinations That Amp Up Holiday Cheer from Red Tricycle. That site identifies some cool insider Christmas / Holiday decorations such as ‘Tom and Jerry’s Christmas Display’ at 3650 21st St., in the Noe Valley neighborhood (who knew?). The rest of the sites are located throughout the Bay Area from Pleasanton down to San Jose.

Christmas Lights San FranciscoThe San Francisco Chronicle keeps track of lights around the city as well. Visit this new, 2014, article on ‘The White Lights‘ of San Francisco. What’s frustrating, however, is that it does not give the physical addresses… making it hard to drive out and see them yourself. Oversite? Fourth, visit this article on CBS local, called ‘Best neighborhoods for Holiday Home Decorations,’ though it was published in 2012, again focused more on the San Francisco Bay Area than on San Francisco itself. Many of the homes still have lights on for the holiday season! Another seasonal favorite is at 3650 21st Street, near Dolores park.

And for things to do in San Francisco at Christmas time, visit this informative article on USA Today, here Among our favorites are the holiday lights trolley tour and historic Union Street with Victorian houses all lit up. If you have a little spare cash, there is the holiday lights tour that leaves from 2800 Leavenworth St, Suite 14, San Francisco CA. According to the website, ‘Experience the festive season in San Francisco on an open top double decker bus to get the best view of the city lights! This tour includes The Christmas Tree at Pier 39, Fisherman’s Wharf, The Embarcadero, Union Square, City Hall and some seasonal displays in the city.’ If you’re into ice-skating, you can do that at either Embarcadero Center or Union Square.

Enjoy Christmas / the Holidays in San Francisco, 2014!

Whatever your interest, San Francisco offers both wonderful lights to look at and things to do for the Holidays, 2014!
