The IRS expanded access to its Business Tax Account platform to partnerships, government entities and tax-exempt organizations. The expansion improved digital service and reduced administrative burden. The expansion allowed newly eligible entities to access tax information, make payments and view records through a centralized system. The system previously was available only to certain business types.
In addition, the platform supported service improvement by providing secure and convenient online access, which reduced reliance on paper filings and phone interactions. Eligible users also were able to view balances, download notices, access transcripts and request compliance checks, which enhanced efficiency in managing federal tax responsibilities.
